03. December 2020 / digital conference
With the focus of the „Green Deal“ on a circular bio-based Europe, the Fraunhofer CCPE has been investigating the chemical recycling of post-consumer PLA waste for sustainable production of ethyl lactate since 2018. This could be a potential step towards integrating bio-economy and circular economy. On Thursday, 3rd December 2020, Pranav Majgaonkar (Research Associate, Fraunhofer ICT) would be delivering a key-note speech on the topic „Circular Bio-based Europe: Recycling of post-consumer PLA Waste for Sustainable Production of Ethyl Lactate“ at the virtual 15th European Bio-Plastics Conference from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the session „How can EU projects shape the future of bio-based plastics?“. Following his presentation, there will also be a live panel discussion in order to discuss specific policies and recommendations that will promote appropriate allocation of research funds in the fields of bio-based and bio-degradable plastics.
