Turning off the Tap – How the world can end plastic pollution and create a circular economy

The new report from the United Nations Environment Programme examines economic and business models needed to address the impacts of the plastics economy. It shows that only an integrated, systemic shift from a linear to a circular economy can keep plastics out of our ecosystems and bodies, and in the economy. This can be achieved by accelerating key shifts – reorienting and diversifying markets, reuse, recycle, rethinking and redesigning products and addressing demand for durable plastics. The reports also looks at how to manage the legacy of plastic pollution already in the environment, and it defines the policy and legislative changes that can drive the transformation.
