New position paper from the plastics and recycling industry promotes circular economy and climate protection
Three years after the publication of the first position paper, the German plastics and recycling industry has renewed its joint commitment to the circular economy and climate protection. The associations' new position paper offers comprehensive proposals for necessary changes to provide impetus for a stronger circular economy.

Important topics include recycling-friendly product design, foreign trade in used plastics, the EU-wide end of landfilling and the expansion of disposal and recycling structures. In addition, the market conditions for the use of recyclates will be improved. The document revised by the associations sharpens the positions on mechanical and chemical recycling and emphasizes that a resolute commitment to openness to technology and innovation at German and European level is essential in order to successfully shape the transition towards a more circular economy and climate protection.
The position paper is backed by the associations Plastics Europe Deutschland, GKV Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie, VDMA Fachverband Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen, Bundesverband der Deutschen Entsorgungs-, Wasser- und Kreislaufwirtschaft e.V. and Bundesverband Sekundärrohstoffe und Entsorgung e.V..
